Foreword

Push the door and come in ! This could be your house.

Push the door and come in ! This could be your house. You will see if you recognise the objects and products of your everyday life. You think you know and use them properly by reading the labels. Some seem user-friendly and you use them without moderation, some make you a little scared and you handle them with caution, and finally, others have been there for so long that you use them absent-mindedly. We offer to present them to you from the point of view of the chemist who designs them, develops them, improves them constantly, studies their life when you get rid of them so that they do not overrun landfills or pollute nature. If you are wondering about this chemistry all around us, click to discover the work carried out at the CNRS. The CNRS Institute of Chemistry called upon its research laboratories throughout France to design this virtual and yet so familiar house. We invite you to visit it.
