The CNRS/ ANVIE (National association for the publicizing of interdisciplinary research in humanities and social sciences in the business world ) joint prize has been awarded to Philippe Bataille and Michel Wieviorka of the Center for sociological analysis and action, CADIS (CNRS-EHESS) for their research on racism in the workplace. This research was carried out in partnership with the CFDT trade union.
This research focuses on racially discriminatory practices in enterprises, in particular as concerns hiring practices, and on the role of racist behaviour in everyday professional relationships. Each year, the Department of Humanities and Social Science of the CNRS awards a prize of 100,000 FF to a research team or a researcher of the department working on a project together with members of the socioeconomic sector. The National association for the publicizing of interdisciplinary research in humanities and social sciences in the business world (ANVIE) also participates in this event by adding a 10,000 FF ANVIE prize to the previous amount.
