CNRS-CSIC Workshop in Madrid: Trends on Spintronics and Nanomagnetism – October 4th to 6th, 2017

7 November 2017

Since 2012, the CNRS and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) annually organize joint workshops alternatively in the Paris area and in Madrid. These workshops gather 20 senior and 20 junior scientists who present and discuss their work, within a day and a half. The objective of these bilateral meetings is to ultimately initiate new collaborations, which aim at setting up new bilateral or multilateral research projects, especially at a European scale.

The previous workshops focused on:

  • the nanomaterials for health;
  • the frontiers in evolutive genomics;
  • the new frontiers in astrophysics;
  • the challenges of managing the quality and quantity of water, facing the increment of human pressure on water resources.

The fifth workshop jointly organized by the CSIC and the CNRS took place from October 4th to 6th on the campus of the CSIC in Madrid. This workshop was the opportunity for the forty or so junior and senior scientists from both France and Spain to lead fruitful discussions on spintronics and nanomagnetism.
