ERC Consolidator Grants: CNRS ranks first among European institutions

30 November 2017

The European Research Council has announced the results of the ERC Consolidator Grant Call 2017. Consolidator Grants are awarded to top researchers with at least seven and up to twelve years of experience after PhD.

No less than 329 projects will receive funding in all areas of research, of which 38 are hosted in France thus being the third country hosting ERC laureates after the United Kingdom (60 projects) and Germany (56 projects).

With 20 laureates (12 in Physical Sciences and Engineering, 6 in Life Sciences and 2 in Social Sciences and Humanities), CNRS ranks first, followed by the Max Planck Society (12 laureates) and the University of Oxford (8 laureates).
