Marie-Pierre Comets Director
A physicist trained at the École Normale Supérieure of Fontenay-aux-Roses, near Paris, with an advanced teaching diploma in physics and a PhD in nuclear physics, Marie-Pierre Comets has devoted a large part of her career to the CNRS. A specialist in quark–gluon plasma, she conducted her research at the Paris-based Institut de Physique Nucléaire d’Orsay (CNRS/Université Paris Sud), CEA Saclay and the CERN Large Hadron Collider, in addition to laboratories in the US. From 2006 to 2012, she was a member of the board of the French Nuclear Safety Authority (ASN). In March 2015, she was named chair of the High Committee for Nuclear Safety Transparency and Information (HCTISN). Since October 2013, she has been director of the DIRE, which she joined in 2012.
