Sophie Chevallon is named Director of the CNRS Communications Department

The CNRS Chairman and CEO Antoine Petit has named Sophie Chevallon as the organisation’s Director of the Communications Department effective 1 September 2020. Sophie Chevallon was previously the president of Kalosiny, a communications and brand strategy consulting company, before which she served as the head of communications for the Saint-Gobain group.

While completing her studies in law, political science, and communications, Sophie Chevallon also began a career in journalism in 1988 as part of the editorial board of RTL. After working as a news presenter for France Info in 1994, she joined RMC as a political journalist, and later Public Sénat from 2000 to 2002.

Sophie Chevallon subsequently served as a communications and press advisor in multiple ministerial cabinets, including for the Secretary for Relations with Parliament, as Government Spokesperson from 2002 to 2004, for the Minister of Research from 2004 to 2005, and finally for the Minister of Justice from 2005 to 2007.

After directing communications from 2007 to 2016 for the Saint-Gobain group, a French company specialising in the production, transformation, and distribution of materials, Sophie Chevallon founded Kalosiny, a communications and brand strategy consulting company.

She also teaches brand image and company culture as part of the master’s program at ISCOM, the Higher Institute for Communications and Advertising.
