Google European Doctoral Fellowship Programme

The Google European Doctoral Fellowship Programme was created to support outstanding PhD students doing exceptional research in the field of computer science. These fellowships will provide up to three years support for an individual doing research within a PhD programme in computer science and related disciplines. The fellowship includes a bursary covering tuition, fees, stipend/salary, social benefits, and health care, and EUR 4,000 per year toward conference travel or a personal computer. The bursary varies by country and the yearly bursary amount for a university in France is EUR 36,000. Additionally, Doctoral Fellows will be assigned a Google mentor, invited to a Fellowship Forum at Google, and strongly encouraged to apply for an internship at Google.

In 2011, Google will award approximately 15 named fellowships from amongst the following :

An online nomination form will be available in early January 2011 for submissions and eligible Universities will receive an e-mail once the form can be accessed.
