Institut Gustave Roussy (Paris – Villejuif, France) Recruits Junior Research Group Leaders.

In order to complement its strengths and expand its basic research area, the Institut Gustave Roussy (IGR) is seeking to recruit junior group leaders.
The institute’s undisputed expertise in the field of cancer stems from its ability to translate the breakthrough in basic research into clinical applications, making translational research a key component of its strategy. The IGR currently hosts 28 research teams and provides state-of-the-art core facilities (omics facilities, NexGen sequencing, imaging, biological resources, etc.). The close proximity between clinicians, translational research groups and basic researchers offers a highly stimulating and collaborative research environment.
The IGR is looking for highly motivated junior scientists who will demonstrate a strong potential for the development of an ambitious and creative 5-year project in cancer research and any related areas.

Montpellier Institute of Molecular Genetics recruits junior and senior group leaders.

IGMM is recruiting group leaders whose research falls within the general themes above. Selection will
be based on scientific quality, with particular attention given to inter-disciplinary and systems biology
projects. Selected group leaders will receive appropriate laboratory space, access to all core facilities
and are expected to apply for national and international starting grants. Successful applicants will be
assisted in obtaining tenured positions
New groups are expected to open in 2013 or in early 2014.

The Institut de Biochimie et Génétique Cellulaires is seeking to recruit a new Group Leader.

IBGC is a biological research institute affiliated both with the Centre national de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and the Université Bordeaux Segalen (Life sciences, Medecine & Pharmacy). It is composed of 12 research groups (approx. 100 persons) working. In addition to its dynamic and synergistic research environment, the Institute provides core facilities and equipment for chromatography, structural biology, fluorescence microscopy…Further, the IBGC is located within the Université Bordeaux Segalen campus which offers access to genomics, proteomics, imaging, cytometry and transgenesis platforms.
Candidates should meet the criteria to be able to obtain a position in one of the French research institutions - CNRS, INSERM or University- (or already hold such a position). The selected candidate will receive the full support from the Institute when applying for such positions and for grants from French and European funding agencies.
Applicants should send a C.V., a summary of scientific achievements, a proposed research program (5/8 pages).

The Centre d'Immunologie at Marseille-Luminy currently invites applications for junior/senior group leader positions

The CIML is a world-class immunology institute with a tradition of high quality research. It provides an exceptional international research environment, with a renowned graduate program. The CIML is currently composed of 250 members in 17 research groups and 13 core facilities. The CIML is located on a pluridisciplinary campus and is affiliated with Inserm, the CNRS, Aix-Marseille university and Marseilles Hospitals.
The CIML seeks to recruit new group leaders, either at the start of their careers, or more established researchers. While a particular attention will be given to projects addressing T- or B-cell biology, the CIML encourages applications from outstanding candidates interested in any aspect of human and model organism immunity including systems biology, pathology, genetics, cell biology and development. The CBD is looking for an outstanding scientist seeking

The CBD is looking for an outstanding scientist seeking to establish an innovative research program concerning fundamental questions related to Developmental Biology, preferentially using but not limited to vertebrate models. Moreover, the CBD seeks to bring in cutting-edge approaches and technologies such as high throughput and -omics, systems biology and modeling, live imaging and optogenetics... Applicants should meet the criteria to compete for French and international funding opportunities (ie: ATIP/AVENIR, ANR, HSFP,ERC…) and for French academic research positions at the Centre National de la Recherche Scienti-que (CNRS) or Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale (Inserm). Knowledge of French is not mandatory.

Applications, including a CV, a list of publications, a summary of scientific achievements (2 pages max.) and an outline of the proposed scientific project (5 pages max.) should be sent to the CBD director, Marc Haenlin by March 31st 2012 along with contact information for three referees.
Pre-selected candidates will be invited for interviews starting on May 2012.
