Applied and Industrial Mathematics Society (“Société des Mathématiques Appliquées et Industrielles” – SMAI)

The Applied and Industrial Mathematics Society is an association governed by the 1901 Act. It has individual members (individuals) as well as institutional members (laboratories at universities or industrial companies).

The aim of the Society is to contribute to the development of applied mathematics through research, their applications within companies, the publications, the teaching and the training of researchers and engineers.

Its goal is to raise awareness, encourage and facilitate new developments in applied mathematics, and is therefore a structure allowing all those interested in applications of mathematics to meet, particularly on the university and industrial level.

It also contributes to the reflection upon the teaching of Applied Mathematics both in universities, engineering schools and the secondary education. It also wishes to participate and encourage in-service training.
