International Center for Mathematical Meetings : CIRM

Joint Service Unit n°822

The Joint Service Units’ aim is not to do research, but to support it.

The 920520SOSI decision of July 24, 1992 such as amended, on the organization and functioning of operational research structures, provides some interesting details on the UMS.

The CIRM, International Center for Mathematical Meetings, located on Luminy campus, in Marseilles, is a tool given to scientists to help them organize meetings in the domain of Mathematics (in the wider sense) and related topics (Theoretical Physics, Computer Sciences, etc).

The CIRM is a Joint Service Unit (UMS 822) under the supervision of the CNRS and the SMF (French Mathematical Society).

The CIRM is funded, for the most part, by the French Ministry of Research and by the CNRS.
