Astrid LambrechtDirector of the Institute of Physics

CNRS senior researcher Astrid Lambrecht began her career investigating vacuum fluctuations, in particular Casimir forces, at the Kastler-Brossel Laboratory, where she completed her PhD. Before joining the CNRS in 1996, she studied in Germany and London (UK), and pursued postdoctoral research at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics in Garching (Germany). She served as co-editor of the journal EPL from 2007 to 2014 and has been a member of the French Parliamentary Office for Scientific and Technological Assessment (OPECST) since 2016. Laureate of the Aimé Cotton Prize of the French Physical Society in 2005, the CNRS Silver Medal in 2013 and the Gentner Kastler Prize of the French and German Physical Societies in 2016, she was previously deputy scientific director of the CNRS Institute of Physics (INP) since 2016.
