The 'Batteries' acceleration PEPR

The national 'batteries' acceleration strategy follows on from the first plan launched in 2018 by the French State. In the framework of this strategy, the CNRS is co-leading the PEPR of the same name which aims to support innovation in developing the future generations of batteries.
This programme will support upstream research in response to the scientific challenges represented by the new generations of batteries. The aim is to develop innovative solutions while creating a base of pooled multidisciplinary fundamental knowledge mainly based on the following three main goals:

  • Promoting the emergence of innovative chemistries
  • Developing a battery management system which is adapted to new needs
  • Developing the right tools to accompany the new technologies
  • Programme co-leaders: CNRS / CEA
  • Budget: €40M
