Elisabeth Kohler was appointed director of the CNRS Mission for Women’s Integration in January 2018. Having trained as a historian, she joined the CNRS in 1990 to work in the field of scientific and technological information. She then became head of the partnership and technology transfer department at the Ile de France Sud regional office. In 2006, she joined the CNRS National Institute for Earth Sciences and Astronomy (INSU), where she was in charge of European and international affairs. As such, she coordinated several European projects and was involved in structures such as the European Innovation Partnership on Raw Materials.

The CNRS Mission for Women’s Integration acts as an observatory in charge of promoting, advising on and evaluating the integration of gender issues in the organization’s global policy. It works closely with all CNRS entities, in order to foster professional equality between men and women within the CNRS, and encourage young people, especially girls, to pursue careers in science and technology. It cooperates with a variety of partners both in France and other countries.
