The 'Electronics' acceleration PEPR
Establishing technological sovereignty through electronics
Omnipresent in our daily lives, electronics are the invisible foundation of the digital technologies that are transforming our societies. To anticipate developments in key markets – telecommunications, mobility, digital, defence, space – and consolidate national sovereignty, the Electronics research programme supports the development of disruptive technologies. Its objective is to sustainably reindustrialise the sector, relocate certain strategic production activities and promote the innovations of tomorrow.

This programme draws on cutting-edge scientific expertise in materials physics, micro-nanotechnologies, photonics, electromagnetism and artificial intelligence. It focuses on four major themes: digital perception (detection and sensors in extreme environments), conversion (energy optimisation and power electronics), telecommunications (components for future generations of networks) and computing (innovative low-power architectures for AI).
The research aims to create high-performance sensors for the environment and health, improve energy conversion devices for sustainable mobility, develop components compatible with 6G and design processors inspired by the functioning of the human brain. All this research is supported by the national technological infrastructures of the RENATECH network coordinated by the CNRS and the CEA’s nanocaracterisation platform.
The Electronics programme is part of a drive towards industrial relocation, value creation and ecological transition. It strengthens France’s technological autonomy and supports the digital transformation of its key sectors.
